History

Rosendale Estates grew out of the Godfrey family farm on Rosendale Road. Clark Godfrey developed and subdivided the land around the family farmhouse from the mid-1940s through the 1950s, and later sections were added in the decades that followed. His papers on the development are part of the Godfrey Collection at the Schenectady County Historical Society's Grems-Doolittle Library. Woodcrest, along Rowe Road and Stanley Lane, followed in the late 1950s, with a few newer homes added in the 1980s.

The Homes

Homes here are mostly colonials, split-levels and ranches built from the 1950s through the 1970s, with some newer homes from the 1980s through the early 2000s. Most have 3 to 5 bedrooms and roughly 1,800 to 3,000 square feet, on lots of about a third to half an acre.

Streets include Godfrey Lane, Glenmeadow Court, Windemere Court, Cephalonia Drive, Lynnwood Drive, Pembroke Court, Fox Hollow Road, Sandra Lane, Berkley Avenue and Rosehill Boulevard in Rosendale Estates, and Rowe Road and Stanley Lane in Woodcrest.

Schools

These neighborhoods are in the Niskayuna Central School District, and the listings on this page are limited to homes within the district. Rosendale Elementary (2445 Rosendale Road) and Iroquois Middle School (2495 Rosendale Road) are right in the neighborhood, and Niskayuna High School is on Balltown Road. Elementary and middle school assignments are set by the district, so confirm the schools for a specific address with the district.
